Clipso stretch ceiling over a living room and kitchen

The ceiling over the living room and kitchen was clad in boards with visible joints and the acoustics were poor. We took the boards down, fitted rockwool between the joists for sound damping and built timber framing for the lighting: mounts for built-in and hanging lights and tracks for adjustable spotlights. Everything was then covered with a black backing so the background would read as one dark surface and nothing shows through the white fabric. Finally the Clipso fabric was tensioned into profiles at the ceiling edge — one flat, seamless white ceiling with the lights passing through. We install Clipso ceilings ourselves; the material comes from the Clipso dealer in Iceland.
