The basement apartment was in its original state: a carpeted stair with a steel rail, a white-tiled bathroom and worn surfaces. We took it back to concrete and built it up again with new stud partitions, rockwool and underfloor heating.
The bathroom is the centrepiece: terracotta wall tiles, a grey large-format shower with black fittings and an LED-lit niche, dark cabinets with brass knobs and recessed lighting that washes the tiles. The stair got a panelled wall, a carpet runner and a run of grey wardrobes; the hallway new dark grey doors on an oak floor.
The project carries photos of every stage: the flat as it was, the strip-out, the rebuild and the finished space.
